Unique early to mid-20th century silver-plated clamshell dish. Has an ornate handle and rounded feet on the bottom.
A vintage statement piece, this was manufactured by Bernard Rice’s Sons silver, which was a successor to Apollo Silver. Apollo Silver Co. was founded in New York in 1885 and was succeeded by Bernard Rice's Sons c. 1899. The company made silver-plated items.
This dish is in excellent vintage condition. The maker’s stamp and production number are visible on the bottom and, while tarnished with age, the silver is still in beautiful shape. Measures approximately 10 inches across. Please see photos for more details.
